Beaufort-Jasper YMCA of the Lowcountry Announces New Association Name:
YMCA of the Lowcountry

The Beaufort-Jasper YMCA of the Lowcountry is proud to announce that it is officially changing its name to YMCA of the Lowcountry, a change that reflects the organization's continued growth and expanding commitment to serving communities throughout the region.

The organization has grown significantly in recent years, broadening its reach to serve communities across Beaufort, Jasper, and Hampton counties. Its new name better reflects the regional impact the YMCA has today and its continued commitment to strengthening the entire Lowcountry.

"This new name reflects who we are today and where we're headed tomorrow," said Michael Bostwick, CEO of YMCA of the Lowcountry. "While our name is changing, our mission remains exactly the same—to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. As our communities continue to grow, we're proud to grow alongside them and ensure that families across the Lowcountry have access to the programs, support and opportunities they deserve."

The name change comes during an exciting period of growth for the organization. Recent milestones include the opening of the James Fisher Memorial Foundation YMCA in Ridgeland, providing swim lessons to students throughout Hampton County, continued investment in the Wardle Family YMCA in Port Royal, and increased partnerships with schools, municipalities, healthcare providers, and community organizations across the region.

"The YMCA has always been more than a building," Bostwick added. "It's a place where children learn to swim, families connect, seniors stay active, young athletes discover confidence, and neighbors come together. Our new name simply reflects the larger community we're honored to serve every day."
