Youth sports at the Wardle Family YMCA in Port Royal, SC give kids the opportunity to get active, learn new skills and experience the fun of being part of a team.
Serving families throughout Beaufort, Port Royal and surrounding Beaufort County communities, our YMCA youth sports programs focus on age-appropriate skill development, teamwork, confidence and good sportsmanship. Whether your child is trying a sport for the first time or ready to build on the skills they already have, there’s a place for them at the Y.

Youth Sports
SOCCER
From learning the fundamentals to developing skills for the next level, YMCA youth soccer gives young players an opportunity to learn, play and grow in a positive environment.
We offer soccer during both the spring and fall seasons, with programs designed for younger athletes.
Spring Soccer
Outdoor soccer begins in March.
Fall Indoor Soccer

Our fall indoor soccer program keeps the action going inside while helping players develop ball control, coordination, teamwork and confidence.
JR. NBA YOUTH BASKETBALL
Hit the court with the Wardle Family YMCA Jr. NBA League!
Our youth basketball program introduces players to the fundamentals of the game while encouraging teamwork, sportsmanship and skill development. Programs are available for a wide range of ages and experience levels.
Seasons: Summer & Winter
Ages: 3–12
Whether your child is picking up a basketball for the first time or continuing to develop their game, YMCA basketball provides a supportive place to learn and compete.
YOUTH T-BALL
Start their love of the game with YMCA T-Ball!
Designed especially for young athletes, T-Ball introduces children to the basics of baseball in a fun, encouraging environment. Players develop fundamental skills while learning how to participate as part of a team.
Season: May–June
Ages: 3–6
YOUTH NFL FLAG FOOTBALL
Experience football without the tackling. The Wardle Family YMCA NFL FLAG Football League gives young athletes an exciting way to develop football skills, stay active and compete as part of a team.
Players work on fundamentals including passing, catching, running routes and defense while developing communication, teamwork and sportsmanship.
Season: August–October
Ages: 4–12
More Than a Game
At the YMCA, youth sports are about more than wins and losses. They're an opportunity for kids to build confidence, make friends, stay active and learn lessons that extend far beyond the field or court.
